Mr. Wayne Holder

Mr. Wayne Holder, 75, of Mount Airy, NC, died peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Holder was born January 25, 1941, in Mount Airy, to Grover and Flora Chappell Holder. Mr. Holder was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers: Colon Holder and James Holder. Surviving are his wife, Frances Cook Holder of the home; son, Todd Holder and wife, Anne Holder, of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Helena Holder of Winston-Salem, and fiancé Matt Robinson of Staunton, VA; and two grandchildren, Evan Holder and Corbin Holder. Also surviving are his brother, Aldine Holder and wife, Betty Holder; and two sisters, Gaynelle Nichols and husband, Herman Nichols; and Linda Burcham and husband, Kit Burcham, all of Mount Airy, NC. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 11:00 am at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Merritt and Tommy Nichols, Mr. Holder’s nephew. Burial will follow at Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22, 2017. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Randall Keith, home nurse Missy Flippin, and Mr. Holder’s loving caretaker, Kendra Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 818 Old Lowgap Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
