Mr. Wayne Adam Jessup

Mr. Wayne Adam Jessup age 87 of 1115 Josh Road, Mt. Airy, NC widower of Mrs. Mary Inez Martin Jessup passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born November 30, 1925 in Surry County to the late Adam Reid and Martha Lee Anderson Jessup. He was retired from Armtex and attended Albion Baptist Church. Mr. Jessup was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II. Surviving are two sisters, Lucy Jessup Rogers, Pilot Mountain, and Kathleen Jessup Frye, Mt. Airy, six brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior E. and Leota Jessup, Mt. Airy, Beauford and Carol Jessup, Westfield, Boyd and Barbara Jessup Mt. Airy, Lonnie and Judy Jessup, Pilot Mountain, Lester and Shirley Jessup, Mt. Airy, Kenneth and Brenda Jessup, Clemmons. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Jessup was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Jessup and wife, Eugenia and two brothers-in-law, Grady Frye and Boyce Rogers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Ricky Rogers, Rev. Ricky Spencer and Rev. Odell Sisk. Burial will follow in the Albion Baptist Church Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 Mt. Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends 6-8 Saturday night at Moody Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Albion Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Bernie Chilton, 687 Woodville Road, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
