Mr. Wayne Edward Pruitt

Mr. Wayne Edward Pruitt, age 81, of Pinnacle entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Universal Healthcare of King surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Patrick County, Virginia on July 19, 1936 to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Minnie Fulk Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt was a retired fixer from Armtex Hosiery, after 45 years of dedicated service and was a member of Pinnacle View Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was recently introduced to his great-grandson. Mr. Pruitt was a quiet, gentle man who had a deep love for farming and raising cattle. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family with whom he made many precious memories. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Allie Mae Baker Pruitt; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Fay Pruitt; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Bobby Bowman; six beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle and Jenna Pruitt, Levi, Hayley and Cody Bowman; a great-grandson, Solomon Thomas Pruitt; a sister, Madeline Kirkman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Horace and Cheryl Pruitt and Stewart and Sandra Pruitt; several special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by two sisters, Lottie Allen and Irene Jessup; and a brother, Morris Pruitt. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Pinnacle View Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Chamblin. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pinnacle View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Rachel Hall 463 Corner Road Pinnacle, NC 27043. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends, neighbors and family members for their prayers, love and support through the many years of Mr. Pruitt’s long, courageous battle with Lupus. Special thanks to the staff of King Dialysis Center; the entire staff of Baptist Hospital and Universal Healthcare and especially Dr. Amet Hawfield for their excellent care.
