Mr. Wesley Edwin Terry

Mr. Wesley Edwin Terry, 78, of Meadows of Dan and formerly of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011. He was born in Carroll County on May 29, 1932 to the late Samuel Edwin Terry and Dorothy Jessup Terry. In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by two brothers Marvin Terry and Reuben Terry and two brothers-in-law, R. O. Slusher, Jr. and Curtis Cock, Jr. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a brick mason and building contractor for more than 50 years in Carroll and surrounding counties. He was of Primitive Baptist Faith and attended New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church in Carroll County.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Odetta Bond Terry of the home; two daughters, Zelda Marie Terry of Pilot, Virginia and Janet Terry Linkous of Christiansburg, VA; two special grandsons, John Martin Crowder and his wife, Nicole Thornton Crowder of Radford and Adam Wesley Crowder of Christiansburg, VA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel E. Terry and wife, Julia of Meadows of Dan, Hubert Terry and wife, Vera of Pulaski and David Terry and wife, Audrey of Meadows of Dan, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Evelyn Terry Slusher of Floyd, Frances Terry Cock of Meadows of Dan, and Lois Terry Dalton and husband, Owen of Meadows of Dan; two sisters-in-law, Nan Vipperman Terry of Meadows of Dan and Eloise Meyers Terry of Fredericksburg; two special aunts, Willa Dean Terry of Hillsville and Edrie Clifton of Vesta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Terry will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church on Terry's Mill Road with Elder Alan Terry and Elder Carl Terry officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery with a flag presentation by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church.
