Mr. William Marion Chappell

Mr. William Marion Chappell, age 78 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Chappell was born in Surry County, December 15, 1932 to Daniel and Laura Davis Chappell. He was retired from Pike Electric Co. Mr. Chappell will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Todd Reynolds, grandson, Russ Reynolds and granddaughter, Lauren Reynolds; a son Ricky Chappell and family; step daughters, Dorothy Hutson Davis and family and Jackie Hutson Williams and family and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Chappell was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Sawyers Chappell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Winford Davis. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and compassion shone to Mr. Chappell during his illness.
