Mr. William Franklin "Frank" Jones

Mr. William Franklin "Frank" Jones, 92, of Cana, VA went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, August 8, 2017. He was born the oldest of 13 children to the late William Lissie and Lina Mae Cagle Jones in Carroll County, VA, on April 3, 1925. Mr. Jones was a kind and gentle man, always enjoying the company of family and friends. Mr. Jones was a well-known and well respected produce dealer until he was over 80 years old. He felt greatly blessed by the good Lord to safely travel many miles throughout his career. He was a faithful member of Paul's Creek Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. Mr. Jones is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Delores Jean and Richard Kinder, Darlene and Danny Vernon, Debbie and Steve McCreary and Donna and Shane Johnston; one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Angela Jones; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Brad and Melissa Hiatt, Chad Vernon, Justin and Shanna Vernon, Andrea and Mark Osborne, Julie and Ken Payne, Daniel and Michelle Jones, Dustin and Megan Webb, Ethan and Chelsey McCreary, Jason and Renee McCreary, Justin and Roxanne McCreary, Jessica Cooke Bailey and Matt Bailey, and Tyler Johnston; 15 great grandchildren, with one expectant; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Faye Hardigree, and Helen and Eddie Vaughn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Perry and Ida Jones, Donald Jones, Elza Jones, Edith M. Jones and Edith H. Jones. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mayetta Forrest King Jones; an infant grandson, Brian Ashley Hiatt; a sister, Lorraine Willard, and brothers, Namon, Junior "Tub", Berna, Harlie, Lynwood, Herman and Odell Jones. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Paul's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin McCreary officiating with interment to follow at Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Paul's Creek Baptist Church, c/o Shirley Jones, 43 Goodspur Ln., Cana, VA. 24317 or to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the special family members, church family and friends for the many prayers, visits and acts of kindness they’ve shown to their father. Also, they would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Twelve Oaks Assisted Living for the kindness and wonderful care he received during his stay there.
