Mr. William Clyde Pilson

Mr. William Clyde Pilson, age 98, of Stuart, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on April 25, 1918 to the late William Royal Pilson and Nettie Pendleton Pilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Morrison Pilson; a son-in-law, Bobby Steagall; one brother, Oscar Pilson; and four sisters, Mae Baliles, Rosie Belcher, Minnie Belcher, and Eula Pilson. Clyde served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a charter member of Fairystone Baptist Church, and loved to play music.

Surviving are his daughter, Myrtle Steagall of Stuart; one grandson, Phillip Steagall of Stuart; one sister, Virginia Wright of Stuart; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Kriss Foley, Richard Dobson, and Amos Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
