Mr. William "David" Puckett

Mr. William “David” Puckett, age 87 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry. He was born in Patrick County on February 5, 1930 to the late Bennie Robert “Bob” Puckett and Bessie Goad Puckett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene Booth Puckett; five brothers, Leonard, Bill, Bobby, Paul, and John Puckett; and a sister, Ruby P. Hall. David was a beloved father and loved his family. He loved to fish, watch Wood Brothers racing, and tending his beautiful flowers.

Mr. Puckett is survived by his wife, Warnders Blackard Puckett of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, C.W. and Tina Puckett of Stuart, VA and Thomas A. and Diane Puckett of Martinsville; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann and John Pendleton of Stuart, Ruth Clark of the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Puckett, Ruby Mae Puckett and Jenny Puckett, all of Stuart; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Shelby Willard, Angela Spence and Shelby Stevens, all of Stuart; and the Blackard family and the Booth family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Terry Ragsdale officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Peter’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Patrick County Chapter, P.O. Box 1301, Stuart, VA 24171.
