Mr. William Guy Roberts

Mr. William Guy Roberts, age 79 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on April 17, 1930 to the late William Henry and Minnie Stovall Roberts. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Woolwine Roberts, and three sisters, Lilly, Elsie and Otra.
Mr. Roberts is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William Thomas and Barbara Roberts of Stuart, Robert Leon and Tonya Roberts of Virginia Beach, and Phillip Dean Roberts of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina; four daughters and sons-in-law, Loraine and Fred Gilles of Lake Luzerne, New York, Deborah and Roy Rusmisel of Stuart, Patricia and Robert Agee of Danville and Rebecca "Becky" Puckett of Meadows of Dan; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Roberts of Eden, North Carolina; two sisters, Margaret Harris of Buena Vista, and Ruth Allred of Mount Airy, North Carolina; and one half-sister, Norma Jean Jones of Mount Airy.
A memorial service for Mr. Roberts will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Bernard Handy and Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Tommy and Barbara Roberts.
