Mr. William Aaron Spencer

Mr. William Aaron Spencer, 92, of Lambsburg, VA passed away Thursday, February 09, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Forsyth County on November 30, 1924 to the late Reece and Mary Beshears Spencer. Mr. Spencer was retired from Vulcan Material and was a member of Bottom Road Tabernacle. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Nellie Ruth Parks Spencer of the home; daughters and sons-in-laws, Glenda and Glenn Piper of Mooresville, Shirley and James Burnette of Midway; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sheila Spencer of Mt. Airy, Terry Spencer of Shelby, and David Spencer of Lexington; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Morgan Haley Edwards; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Peggy Spencer. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kelly Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017 or to Bottom Road Tabernacle, 112 Bottom Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
