The world has lost a true gentleman and WWII veteran with the passing of Mr. Willie Aubrey Mosley. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born on May 22, 1919, to Robert William and Maggie Ellen Key Mosley. Mr. Mosley passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on Thursday, November 24, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Mosley was a retired farmer and co-owner of Mosley Corn and Feed Mill. Mr. Mosley was drafted into the Army in November, 1941 and served with distinction until October 10, 1945 when he was discharged with military honors. He served for thirty months as a heavy artillery operator in the South Pacific including the Solomon Isands and the Fiji Islands. Mr. Mosley was a dedicated deacon, trustee and member of Stewarts Creek Primitive Baptist Church where he served as long as his health allowed. Mr. Mosley is survived by his loving wife and care-giver, Georgie Mae Johnson Mosley whom he married on November 1, 1959. He is also survived by one daughter, Andrea Kay Mosley Johnson of Mt. Airy and three grandsons all of Mt Airy, Aubrey Loyd Johnson and and special friend, Pat Clifton; Christopher Mark Johnson; and Robert Elliott Johnson and special friend, Jessica Whitfield. His loving son-in-law, Bernie Loyd Johnson, preceeded him in death on April 21, 2011. In addition to his parents and son-in-law, Mr. Mosley was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Irene Lawson Mosley. He was the last surviving child of thirteen children born to his parents and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Stewarts Creek Primitive Baptist Church on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2:00pm. Visitation at the church will precede the funeral from 12:00 noon until time of the service. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
