Mr. Willie Columbus Vaughn

Mr. Willie Columbus Vaughn, age 81 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on May 3, 1930 to the late Moir W. and Sallie Dollarhite Vaughn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Handy and Vera Burnette. He was a member of Mary Horner Walker Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon. He had retired from Stuart Flooring having worked in the maintenance department.
Mr. Vaughn is survived by his wife, Sarah Goad Vaughn of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Jimmy Edwards of Patrick Springs and Susan and Eddie Belcher of Stuart; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff Vaughn of Stuart, Mike and Glenda Vaughn of Clemmons, North Carolina and Scott Vaughn of King, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Joseph Edwards, Adrian Edwards, Kelsey "Chip" Vaughn, Brianna Vaughn, Sydney Vaughn, Amy Alderman and Emily Belcher; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Stella and Leon Gusler of Stuart and Jane Lawson of Midlothian; and five brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Onie Vaughn of Claudville, Cotton and Ruby Vaughn of Collinsville, Herman and Gloria Vaughn of Vesta, Ray and Eva Vaughn of Stuart and Leon and Brenda Vaughn of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mr. Vaughn will be held Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Revs. Bill Roundtree and kRobert Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Vaughn Family Cemetery in Claudville. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
