Mrs. Alice Annie Hazelwood

Mrs. Alice Annie Hazelwood, age 96, formally of Elkin, passed away Saturday, May 28 2016. She was born February 21, 1920 in Surry County to the late Earlie and Rausie Poindexter Marion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William Conia Hazelwood. Mrs. Hazelwood was a retired homemaker and a member of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters; Donna Anderson of LaGrange, Elaine Davis of High Point, Vivian and Reggie Cain of Asheboro and Lisa and Neal Johnson of Archdale; grandchildren, Steven Davis, Stacie Freeman, Shane Davis, Megan Bingham, Jeremy Johnson, Jessica Ashburn, Travis Anderson, Ashley Anderson and Kimberly Anderson; one sister, Georgia Wood and one brother, Beachel Marion. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Dockery, Lela Stanley, and Bessie VonCannon; and two brothers, Junior Stanley and Wesley Stanley. Visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2016 from 1-2 PM at Bear Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Reverend Doug Byrd and Reverend Alvin Browning officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro NC 27203.
