Mrs. Allie Mae Clark Martin

Mrs. Allie Mae Clark Martin, age 88 of Lawsonville, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on October 6, 1924 to the late Bud and Allie Biggs Clark. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Franklin Martin; and four brothers, George, Marion, Dallas and Clarence Clark. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, and had retired from Burlington Industries. She was a loving wife, mother, mammy, sister, aunt and friend. She canned with great enthusiasm while her beloved husband tended the garden.
Mrs. Martin is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances and Jimmy Stovall of Stuart and Treva Martin of Lawsonville; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Lee and Lorene Martin of Lawsonville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Martha Hutchens of Stuart, Annie Sue Hawks of Stuart, Dorothy Mills of Spencer and Della Hawks of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Dave Henry and Pastor Mark Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Peters Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
