Mrs. Alma Stovall Ferguson, age 92 of Eden, North Carolina, and formerly of Lawsonville, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on September 10, 1914 to the late W. R. and Ida Hill Stovall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ferguson; five brothers, Russell, Riley, Reid, Robert and Morris Stovall; and three sisters, Cora Nickelston, Gracie Poore and Marie Clugston. She was retired from Washington Mills, and was a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ferguson is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earnest (Dixie) Darby of Martinsville, and Betty (Jo) Johnson of Reidsville, North Carolina; two grandsons, Richard Howell of Martinsville and Robin Corns of Durham, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Jill) Boyle of Martinsville; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral for Mrs. Ferguson will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Terry Ragsdale officiating. Burial will be private at Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
