Mrs. Alma Mae Corder Law

Mrs. Alma Mae Corder Law, age 87, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away on Friday July 14, 2017 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry Co. on April 15, 1930 to the late Jesse Roscoe Corder and the late Isabelle Tolbert Corder. She retired from Perry Manufacturing, and was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Franklin Law; infant son Jesse Leonard Law; daughters Joan Wood and Rhonda McCraw; grand-daughter Candy Gunter; brothers Delmer Corder and Otis Atkins; Surviving are her daughter Jean Cassell Byrd of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Ellen Law, of Dobson; grandchildren Randy and Dawn Cassell, Chad and Christy Cassell, Michael Southern, Michelle Southern, Chris Law, Brad and Bridgette Browder; special granddaughter Brandi Lawson, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; sister Annabelle Whitaker, of Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law Dallas and Joyce Corder, of Dobson; son-in-law Wayne McCraw, of Mt. Airy; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM July 18, 2017, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, in Dobson. Burial will follow in the Anchor Baptist Church Cemetery in Ararat, NC. Pastor Ken Aman, and Rev. Tony White will officiate the service. The family will receive friends Monday evening at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to her burial fund C/O Ellen Law PO Box 1050, Dobson, NC 27017. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of son and daughter-in-law Larry and Ellen Law 401 S. Main St. Dobson, NC 27017.
