Mrs. Alpha Mae Handy

Mrs. Alpha Mae Handy, age 99 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at her home. She was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on November 26, 1910 to the late Walter G. and Virginia Pulliam Marshall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Handy was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Ray Handy; one brother, George Marshall; and three sisters, Willie Smith, Addie Haymore and Myrtle Weaver. She had retired from J.P. Stevens, and was the mother of Abiding Grace Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Handy is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. J. R. Vipperman officiating. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Schoolfield Cemetery in Danville.
