Mrs. Alta Marie Baldwin Carlson

Mrs. Alta Marie Baldwin Carlson, 93 of Mount Airy, passed away early Thursday morning at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on November 26, 1922 to the late John James “Jim” Baldwin and Leavie Midkiff Baldwin. She is survived by special nieces, Bridgett Pike of Mt. Airy, Sandra Richards of Pilot Mountain, Vicki Postlmayr of Orlando, FL, Candace Richardson of Mt. Airy, Jeanette Baldwin and Sherry Brockway both of Wichita, KS, and Audrey White of South Haven, KS; special nephews, Kevin McKeithan of Wilkesboro, Gary McKeithan of Cana, VA, Joey McKeithan of Pilot Mountain, Stephen Baldwin of Winston Salem, and Jeffery McKeithan of Mt. Airy; twelve great nephews and 7 great nieces; and several great-great nieces and nephews; and a special friend Betty Hooker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carlson was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd P. Carlson; a sister, Kathyrn Baldwin McKeithan; two brothers, Carroll Baldwin and J. C. Baldwin; and two nephews, Jimmy Baldwin and Michael McKeithan. Funeral services will be held on Sunday November 27, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM officiating with burial to follow in the Midkiff Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt.
