Mrs. Ann Rachel Pace Boles, age 97 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on March 12, 1916 to the late John and Sarah Moss Pace. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boles was preceded in death by her husband, William Russell "Buck" Boles; one son, Herbert Russell Boles; one brother, John Pace; four sisters, Alice Cox, Grace Hodges, Lily Scott and Hallie Harris. She was a longtime member of Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church, and was the owner/operator of Ann's Beauty Shop for several years.
Mrs. Boles is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Edna East of Morehead City, North Carolina, Shirley and Roy Sutphin of Stuart, Sue and Herman Geesaman of Grantville, Pennsylvania, Lynda and Jackie Spence of Rocky Mount and Beverly and Howard Tate of Ridgeway; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and JoAnn Boles of Claudville and Billy and Phyllis Boles of Stuart; 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nell Dickerson of Stuart, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor David Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. If desired, memorials may be made to the CCDF Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 603, Stuart, Virginia.
