Mrs. Anna "Jean" Jones Hutcherson

Mrs. Anna "Jean" Jones Hutcherson, age 81, of Thurmond, NC passed away on Monday evening August 15, 2016 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born in Swain County on May 14, 1935 to the late Jack and Mary Russell Jones. She was a former lunch room manager at Mountain Park Elementary School and Central Middle School when she retired. She attended Mountain Park Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Eugene Hutcherson; and two brothers, Jack Jones, Jr. and Russell Jones. Surviving are her three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Hutcherson, of Raleigh, NC, Rodney and Deborah Hutcherson, of Apex, NC, and Mark and Donna Hutcherson, of Ararat, NC; three grandchildren, Rachel and Andrew Korostynski, Brandon and Tasha Hutcherson, Kevin Hutcherson; four great-grandchildren, Lucas Hutcherson, Vivian Korostynski, Silas Hutcherson, Holden Korostynski; and one brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Juanita Jones, of Viburnum, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 18, 2016, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery. Pastor William A. Carrier will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody- Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, Norman Jean Doby and Kristin Stanley, the staff at Golden Living and the staff at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
