Mrs. Anna Lou McCreary

Mrs. Anna Lou Catron McCreary, age 77, of Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning January 14, 2017, at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. McCreary was born in Grayson County on October 10, 1939 to Robert and Nannie Dixon Catron. She was retired from Pine State Knitwear and was a devoted member of Northside Baptist Church. Surviving is her loving husband of 57 years, Bill McCreary; a grandson, Butch Miller and wife Danielle; a great grandson, Drayk Miller; and a brother, June Catron. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCreary was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen M. Miller; a sister, Rosa Lee Akers and brothers, Charles Catron and Rodger Catron. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Rev. Dean Eaton. There will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and the Woltz Hospice Home for the exceptional care given to Mrs. McCreary during her illness.
