Mrs. Annie Conner Fain

Mrs. Annie Conner Fain, age 96, of Stuart passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Floyd County on October 25, 1912 to the late Cord and Nettie Handy Conner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fain was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis R. Fain; two sisters, Myrtle Susan Conner Lang and Mae Lang; and three brothers, Quinten, Curtis and Frank Conner.
Mrs. Fain is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ruth and Kenneth Moore of Bassett; one step-son, Eddie Gilley, Jr.; one granddaughter, Anita Marie Gilley Lewis of Bassett; five great-grandchildren, Jessie Earl Turner, Rodney Aaron Turner, Douglas Lewis, Jr., Amber Starr Lewis and Dale Wayne Lewis.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fain will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Jack Hyde and Bernard Handy officiating. Burial will follow in the Fain and Handy Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
