Mrs. Annie Sue Hylton Hill

Mrs. Annie Sue Hylton Hill, age 79 of Stuart, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on February 10, 1938 to the late William Terry Hylton and Maggie Clark Hylton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette H. Penn; and two brothers, Harrison Hylton and William McKinley “Kenny” Hylton. She had been a member of Tatum Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church since 1976 and was a mother of the church for many years. She worked at Narroflex for 52 years, and had a great sense of humor. Annie Sue was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Hill of the home; four children, Wayne (Bessie) Hill of Stuart, James Robert (Sellinah) Hill of Stuart, Mary (Daryl) Smith of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Corretta H. Anthony of Stuart; eleven grandchildren, James Hylton, Brad Penn, Shuana Penn, Adrian Penn, Khyva Burgess, Sandile Hill, Ma Swazi Gause, Daryl Smith, Jr., Marquetta Smith, Erika Anthony and Denzel Anthony; eleven great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ricky Penn of Patrick Springs; three step-sisters, Sarah Marie Moore of Charlotte, North Carolina, Betty Lou Love of Winston-Salem, Cassie Taylor of Winston-Salem; three aunts, Pearl Hylton Hughes of Detroit, Michigan, Mae Clark of Patrick Springs, Ida Clark of Critz; one sister-in-law, Lucille T. Hill of Martinsville; and two brothers-in-law, Willie Clark of Washington, DC and Ralph Tatum of Fredericksburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
