Mrs. Annie Lala H. Hylton, age 93 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on November 28, 1919 to the late David and Mamie Rorrer Hylton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hylton was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Howard Hylton; a grandson, Ricky Puckett; and two brothers, Garland and Claude Hylton. She was a member of Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, and had worked for J.P. Stevens.
Mrs. Hylton is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Candi Hylton of Woolwine; a daughter and son-in-law, Lorna and Glenn Puckett of Stuart; seven grandchildren, Eddie Puckett, Derina Scott, Gerald Hylton, Duane Hylton, Darian Hylton, Kyle Erickson and Seth Erickson; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Iva Pendleton of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hylton will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lorna and Glenn Puckett, 250 Morrison Road in Stuart.
