Mrs. Audrey Lorraine Jones Allred

Mrs. Audrey Lorraine Jones Allred, age 94, of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Allred was born in Surry County on May 18, 1922 to Lacy Franklin and Alice Edwards Jones. She was so loving and kind to all she ever met. Among those who will always cherish her memory are sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Jr. and Gail Allred; James and Betty Sue Allred; grandchildren, Kevin Allred and wife Vicky, Kristine Davis and husband Derrick and Jamie Allred and wife Hillary; four great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Sparger; and a brother, Jack Jones. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allred was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dixon Allred Sr.; sisters, Florence Brown, Patsy Brown and Jerri Robinson; and a brother, Lacy Jones, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home by Dennis Blackburn. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Skilled Nursing Unit at Northern Hospital of Surry County, P.O. Box 1101, Attn: Christy Jones, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the Skilled Care Unit at Northern Hospital for the exceptional care and love given to Mrs. Allred during her stay there.
