Mrs. Audrey "Lola" McMillian Clement

Mrs. Audrey "Lola" McMillian Clement, age 82 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Carroll County on September 24, 1926 to the late A.F. and Leota Vipperman McMillian. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clement was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Clement; one grandson, Jonathan William Ellinger; six brothers, Cabel, Everett, Sam, Arthur, Woodrow and Brian McMillian; and four sisters, Frances Parker, Annie DeBorde, Media Belle McMillian and Essie McMillian. She was a member of Stuart Presbyterian Church. She had been a registered nurse at Stokes-Reynolds Hospital in Danbury, North Carolina and at R. J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in Stuart where she was the first Director of Nursing.
Mrs. Clement is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bill Ellinger of Springboro, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jefferson A. Ellinger, Lori E. Stocker, and husband, Karl, and Melissa E. Sweeterman, and husband, Luke; one great-grandson, William C. Stocker; and a close friend, J. O. Barnard of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clement will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Bucky Hunsicker officiating. Burial will follow in the Clement Family Cemetery in Ararat. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patrick County Education Foundation, P.O.
