Mrs. Audrey Hodges Fain, age 84 of Stuart, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on February 11, 1930 to the late George Dillard Hodges and Madgie Arlon Fain Hodges. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fain was preceded in death by her husband, James Early Fain; a son, Carl Ray Fain; an infant brother and four other brothers, Richard, Manuel, Gilmer and Odell Hodges; and three sisters, Rachel Hughes, Alma Foley and Wilbur Hall. She attended Dobyns Primitive Baptist Church and had retired from Pannill Knitting. She loved old time mountain music, loved to flatfoot and was an avid gardener.
Mrs. Fain is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brien and Doris Fain, James Leon and Shirlene Fain, all of Stuart; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Margaret Hodges of Randleman, North Carolina; and a sister, Opal Williams of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fain will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, Virginia with Elder Donnie Conner and Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral Home.
