Mrs. Barbara Comer Davis

Mrs. Barbara Comer Davis, age 79, of Dobson, NC passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Surry County on January 3, 1939 to the late Henry Sid Comer and the late Lavassie Whitaker Comer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Harold Davis, Sr.; brothers, Delmore Comer and James Comer; sisters, Mickie Childress and Janice Key. Mrs. Davis worked at Jim Davis Accounting, alongside her husband, for many years. She enjoyed gardening and cross stitching and was an active member of Dobson United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. She is survived by three sons, Harold Davis and wife, Beverly of Hickory, NC, David Davis and wife, Leigh of Pfafftown, NC and Tim Davis of Conover, NC; grandchildren, Fisher Davis, Skyler Davis, Halston Davis and Heather Powell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Odell and Hazel Comer, Clark and Carolyn Comer; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Max Weaver. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at Dobson United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The service will be conducted by Pastor Harry D. Sammons. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Dobson United Methodist Church, PO Box 497, Dobson, NC 27017.
