Mrs. Barbara Lynn Leftwich Freeman

Mrs. Barbara Lynn Leftwich Freeman, age 55 of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Freeman was born in Surry County on January 27, 1955 to the late Leroy and Dorothy Dean Smith Leftwich. She retired from Crossroads and was employed as the church secretary for Fellowship Baptist Church until her illness. Mrs. Freeman was a devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Philip Anthony Freeman, Sr. of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Shinault and husband, Matthew; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip Freeman, Jr. and wife Beth; grandchildren, Luke Anthony Freeman and Rebekah Lynn Freeman all of Mt. Airy; a sister, Anita Vogler; brothers and sister-in-law, Gary and Betty Leftwich, Larry and Peggy Leftwich and Jeff and fiancée, Misty Watson all of Mt. Airy; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Georgia Freeman of Mt. Airy; several aunts and uncles, a special aunt, Betty Jean Goins of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Reagan Elizabeth Freeman. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Ararat by Rev. Wesley Boyles, Jr.. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
