Mrs. Barbara Jean Hazelwood Haynes

Mrs. Barbara Jean Hazelwood Haynes, 75, of Dobson passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born June 19, 1941 to the late Avery and Rosie Linville Hazelwood. Left to cherish her memories are three sons and daughters-in-law; Mike and Sue Haynes, Danny Lynn and Anthelene Haynes, and Barry and Betty Haynes; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Tommy Bledsoe and Bonnie and Vann Gallman; grandchildren and spouses, Sendee and Michael Dozier, Misti and Lorenzo Perez, Michael Haynes, Aaron and Brittany Haynes, Matthew Haynes, and Blake Haynes; step-grandchildren and spouses, Brandi and Jacob Thompson, Jonathan and Amber Johnson, Jonathan White, and Angel White; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Hannah, and Lucas Casstevens, Martin, Junior, and Sarah Palacios, Jarron Haynes, and Alicia, Alexia, and Natalie Haynes; step-great-grandchildren, Bryce and Landon Thompson, Maddie Johnson, and Hallie Tate; and a special granddaughter and family, Amber, Austin, Aubree, and Adison Snow. Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Haynes; second husband, Ralph Reece, father, Abe Hazelwood, mother and step-father, Rosie and Rufus Haynes; and brother, Jackie Dean Hazelwood. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Ivy Green Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until the time of the service at the church. The family would like to thank the emergency department as well as the second-floor ICU staff at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
