Mrs. Barbara Louise Mitchell Martin

Mrs. Barbara Louise Mitchell Martin, 73, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Pulaski County, VA on April 18, 1943 to the late Henry Lee and Janie Rosetta Nunn Mitchell. Mrs. Martin was retired from Renfro and was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Martin of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Hensley and Roscoe; sons and daughter-in-law, Barry Lane Martin, Gary Lee Martin, Anthony William Martin and Sherry; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Bowman and Jay, Janice Long; brothers and sister-in-law, Darnell Mitchell and Virginia, Kenny Mitchell, and Terry Mitchell; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a grandchild, Amber Marie Martin. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Maple Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Woody Flippen and the Rev. Jeff Cassell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 Noon until time of the service at Maple Springs Baptist Church.
