Mrs. Barbara Christine Midkiff Moss

Mrs. Barbara Christine Midkiff Moss, age 82 of Stuart, passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 at her home. She was born in Surry County, North Carolina on September 3, 1925 to the late Byron and Hazel Baldwin Midkiff. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moss was preceded in death by one sister, Molly Byrd; one step-sister, Nellie Hill and two step-brothers, Leonard and Carl Lee Hill. She was a member of Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church, and was active in her church as well as community affairs.
Mrs. Moss is survived by her husband, Dewey Sanders Moss of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Leigh and Roger Wilson of Stuart, Laura and Ronnie Smith of Stuart and Lyn and Tony Hill of Danville; six grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Haleigh Wilson, Caleb Hill, McKenzie Hill, Parker Smith and Lauren Smith; one sister, Margaret Moss of Danville; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Francis and Margaret Blackard, both of Stuart; one brother-in-law, Wade Morse and wife, Lavergne of Florida; two step-brothers, Joe Hill of Stuart and Hugh Hill of Pulaski; one step-sister, Betty Sue Barnard of Amelia; and a special caregiver, Sarah Vaughn.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moss will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Hundley and Rev. Jimmy Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
