Mrs. Barbara Jane Mosley Nixon

Mrs. Barbara Jane Mosley Nixon, 80, of Mt. Airy went home to be with her heavenly father Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on May 31, 1935 to the late John and Maude Hemmings Mosley. Mrs. Nixon was retired from the Surry County School System and was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. Nixon greeted everyone with a warm smile. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Sandra Nixon of Pilot Mountain, Mark and Christina Nixon of Lowgap; grandchildren, Kristen Nixon, and Madison Nixon both of Lowgap; sisters, Ola Teague of Winston Salem, Marcelene Ramsey of Winston Salem; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Teresa Mosley, Jack and Stacy Mosley, Virginia Mosley, Anita Mosley all of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nixon was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Nixon; her brothers, Alf Mosley and Ardeen Mosley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Jessup the Rev. Wayburn Mosley, and Mr. Gary Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
