Mrs. Barbara Ann Ayers Sauls

Mrs. Barbara Ann Ayers Sauls, age 77, of Hyde Park, NY and formerly of Patrick County passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015. She was born in Patrick County on Dec. 8, 1937 to the late Clark Henry Ayers and Fairy Redmond Ayers. Mrs. Sauls was an English teacher at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY and retired with over 30 years of service. She received her Master’s Degree from Duke University; volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program; was a Tour Guide at the Wilderstein Historic Site; and was a member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and David Buchanan of Syracuse, NY; two grandsons, Liam and Evan Buchanan; and one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Brenda Ayers of Stuart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at New Hope United Methodist Church with Pastors Tammy Franklin and Keith Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
