Mrs. Beatrice "Bea" Creed Gwyn

Mrs. Beatrice C. “Bea” Gwyn, 80, of Pilot Mountain, wife of Ralph Jackson Gwyn, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at her home. She was born in Guilford County on January 27, 1936 to the late Jesse William McKinley Creed and Rena Elizabeth Creed. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Jackson Gwyn; one daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Dawn McCraw and Randy McCraw; one grandson and wife, McKinley Blake McCraw and Sarah Dunlap McCraw; one great-grandson, Brady Paul McCraw; and brother and sisters-in-law, Sanford and Margaret Creed, Pauline Creed, and Martha Gwyn; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gwyn was preceded in death by two sisters, Maude Adams and Thelma Creed; and four brothers, Hassell, Leonard, J.E., and Carlie Creed. Mrs. Gwyn was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Pilot Mountain. She was retired from First Citizens Bank of Pilot Mountain after 31 years of service. She also worked in the Tax Department of Surry County for four years. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Airy with Rev. Ted Turman, and Rev. Chris Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral home in Mt. Airy on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 893 Ararat Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff with Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care along with all the caregivers who gave such wonderful care to Mrs. Gwyn during her illness.
