Mrs. Beatrice Massey Lawless

Mrs. Beatrice Massey Lawless, age 94 of Stuart, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on July 6, 1914 to the late William David and Delia Foley Massey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawless was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Lawless; a son, Roy Clarence Lawless; three brothers, Paul, Walter and William Massey, and three infant brothers; and one sister, Irene Foley. Mrs. Lawless was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lawless is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elsie and Connie Adams of Stuart; one brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Hazel Massey of Stuart; two sisters, Treva Scearce and Hazel Mills, both of Danville; a sister-in-law, Frances Massey of Stuart; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lawless will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
