Mrs. Benny Johnson Moseley, 93 of Mt. Airy, lived from June 9, 1920 until October 13, 2013. The daughter of J. Brady and Christine Nichols Johnson, she was married to Clinton W. Moseley, having celebrated their seventy-fifth anniversary September 28, 2013. She was a member of White Plains Friends Meeting and attended faithfully with her husband for over 70 years. She cherished her church family, especially the United Society of Friends Women and her Sunday school class. In addition to making a home for her family, Mrs. Moseley had worked with the Mt. Airy Tobacco Market and with her husband at Merritt Machine and Supply. She also volunteered with the Northern Hospital of Surry County auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Clinton, of the home; two children, Sarah Johnson and John Moseley and wife, Tracy, all of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, Ben Belton of Mt. Airy, Christine Casey and husband, Pat, of Huntersville, NC, Brady Johnson and wife, Julie, of Cana, VA, and Caroline Moseley of Reston, VA; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Henry Casey of Huntersville, NC; a son-in-law, Bill Belton of Mt. Airy; her sisters, Marian York of White Plains and Rachel Barr of King; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Johnson of Mt. Airy, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Belton, her sister, Fay Prather, and her brother, Johnny C. Johnson. A graveside service with Pastor Jake Penley officiating will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 2:00 at White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery with the family receiving friends in the fellowship hall immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Plains Friends Meeting at 849 Old Hwy 601, Mt. Airy, NC 27030, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
