Mrs. Bertha Nations Cox, age 85, of State Road, NC passed away at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC on Wednesday evening April 4, 2012. She was born in Surry County on January 27, 1927 to the late John Robert and Lenora Phoebe Wright Nations. She was a self employed seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Cox. Surviving are one daughter Carnita Lenora Cox Wood of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law Jack William Cox of the home, Johnnie Rufus and Delphine Cox of Hendersonville, NC; one sister Marjorie Duncan of Winston Salem, NC; five brothers and sisters-in-law J.R. and Fannie Cox Nations Jr. of Dobson, Grady Nations of Burlington, Colorado, Billy and Polly Nations of Mt. Airy, Joe and Mary Ida Nations of Mt. Airy, Bruce and Judy Nations of Mt. Airy; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning April 7, 2012 at Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Whitaker Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Chaplin Stewart Roten will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
