Mrs. Bertie Hill Guynn

Mrs. Bertie Hill Guynn, age 87, of Ararat, VA and widow of Mr. Theodore C. Guynn, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. She was married to Theodore for 66 years. Mrs. Guynn was born in Patrick County on March 28, 1928 the daughter of the late Totsy and India Powell Hill. Mrs. Guynn was retired from Spencer’s Inc., and a member of the Fellowship Church in Ararat, VA. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Chris Markwith of Midlothian,VA; one son and daughter-in-law, Teddy and Jami Guynn of Ararat, VA; two grandchildren, Kayla Markwith, and Wyatt Markwith; two step grandchildren, Brad Easter and Kandy Alvear; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred Marsh, and Nelda and Jerry Fink; In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Wall, Suzie Gambill, Essie Badgett, and five brothers, Herman, Harry, Kermit, Warren, and Wayne Hill. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Chapel of Mount Airy with Rev. Barry Clement officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The Guynn family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.
