Mrs. Bessie Wood Reid

Mrs. Bessie Wood Reid, age 91 of Mt. Airy Passed away on Sunday evening January 6, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on September 24, 1916 to the late Joe Wood and the late Janie Wallace Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Claude Reid. Mrs. Reid was a member of White Plains Baptist Church and was retired from Thomasville Furniture in High Point. Surviving are some half sisters and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday January 9, 2008 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Double Creek Church of Christ Cemetery. Rev. Bill Tucker will officiate the Funeral Services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 until time of the Funeral Service.
