Mrs. Betsy Folger Few, 85, of Greensboro, NC, wife of Thomas Pierce Few, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing Home in Greensboro. She was born in Dobson, NC on July 29, 1921 to the late Benjamin Franklin and Mabel Llewellyn Folger. A graduate of Women's College, Mrs. Few taught High School and later retired from the staff of UNC-G. She was a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church. She was dedicated to her family, loved to travel, and made friends wherever she went. She enthusiastically enjoyed bridge and the felowship of her bridge friends. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52, years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katy and Harrison Evatt of Greensboro, and Elizabeth and Michael Murphy of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Mandy Few of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Pierce Few, Gray Murphy, Folger Few and Katy Price Murphy; a sister, Eunice Hollingsworth of Dobson and two brothers, Rom Folger of Dobson, and Phil Folger of Chapel Hill, NC and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at West Market United Methodist Church in the gathering space on Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 PM. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday morning at West Market Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ellison officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 PM at Dobson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson thirty minutes prior to the graveside service. Flowers may be sent to West Market Street United Methodist Church, 302 West Market Street Greensboro, NC 27401 or to Moody-Davis Funeral Home, 215 W. Kapp Street,. Dobson, NC 27107. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Chior Fund at West Market Street United Methodist Church. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to our special friend Janelle Jones, the kind and loving caregivers at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing Home, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro and Moses Cone Regional Cancer Center.
