Mrs. Betty Bates Branson

Mrs. Betty Ruth Bates Branson, age 66 of Hamptonville, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Branson was born in Yadkin County on May 10, 1945 to John Troy and Fanny Bell Adams Bates. She was a loving homemaker. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Richard Easter and Darlene and Gary Thompson of East Bend and Elizabeth and Teddy Whitaker of Ronda; sons and daughters-in-law, Troy Branson and Buddy and Teresa Branson all of Boonville and Roy and Sarah Branson of Jonesville; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a step daughter, Teresa Ireland of Pilot Mountain; sisters, Gladys Davis of Germanton; Gerthie Bullins of Mt. Airy and Bonnie Batten of Randleman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branson was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Clinton Branson; sisters, Coralee Norman and Marie Bates and brothers, William Bates and Donald Bates. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Billy Osborne and Eric Parnell. Burial will follow in Crooked Oak Moravian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 until the hour of the service.
