Mrs. Betty Jo Flippin

Mrs. Betty Jo Flippin, 77, of Critz and formerly of Virginia Beach, passed away Saturday morning at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on August 27, 1931 to the late Joseph and Sally Mae Wood Lawson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Surviving Mrs. Flippin is her husband; Leonard O. "Dale" Flippin, of Critz, three daughters; Marlene Smith of Norfolk, Va., Sandra Gioroux and Renee Blankenship of VA Beach, a son; Mark Flippin of Westfield, N.C., three grandchildren; Jessica Smith, Tyler Blankenship, and Kelsee Blankenship, and a brother; Ray Lawson of Stuart, VA.
Funeral services for Mrs. Flippin will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Virginia Beach Free Will Baptist Church in Virginia Beach with Dr. J. Norris officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service at the church and also between 6:30 and 8:30 Sunday night at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
