Mrs. Betty Rogers Getgen

Mrs. Betty Lois Rogers Getgen, 64 of Dobson passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Wake Forest Medical Center. She was born in Roberson County on March 1, 1949 to the late Raeford and Ida Jane Hunt Rogers. She was employed as the office manager for L.G. Trucking and a faithful member of Rockford Baptist Church. Her loving heart and giving spirit will be greatly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 28 years, Lawrence "Larry" Getgen, of the home; four sisters, Doris and husband Dennis Simpson of Rockford, Joyce and husband Gray Bennett of King, Sarah and husband Pete McMillian of Yanceyville and Carol Wood of Dobson; four brothers, Ray and wife Lois Rogers of Mount Airy, Ronald and Shirley Rogers, of Mount Airy, Charles and wife Gaye Rogers of Dobson and Joel Rogers, also of Dobson. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Rockford Baptist Church by Rev. Lannie Atkins with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home where her body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior the service. Following the service, a meal will be served in the fellowship hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Rockford Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 4749 Rockford Road Dobson, NC 27017
