Mrs. Betty Sue Holt Norman

On Friday, December 9, 2016 Betty Sue Holt Norman, with her family by her side, passed through the gates of Heaven and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We rejoice in the knowledge that Betty Sue has been reunited with her parents, James and Bertha Holt and her sisters, Helen Holt Key and Janice Ann Holt and her brother James Monroe Holt Jr. It is a comfort to know that she will spend eternity in a place that knows no suffering or sorrow. Betty Sue was a very caring and compassionate person who always put the needs of others first. She had a true appreciation for all of God’s creations and spent hours working in her flowers and yard. Betty Sue loved animals and never met a dog that did not love her back. Betty Sue was a hairdresser by profession and owned her own business for years, Betty’s Beauty Boutique. She was also a talented artist who enjoyed painting landscapes; especially snow scenes. Betty Sue was absolutely devoted to her family. She was a mother who was always there to provide loving guidance to her children. She supported, respected and loved her husband unconditionally. Betty Sue was a Christian woman with unwavering faith in her Savior’s promise of eternal life. Her favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:28…”And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”. She was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. Left to celebrate her life is her loving husband of 38 years, Benny Norman; her daughter and caretaker, Renee Norman Morgan and beloved son, Benny “Benji” Norman Jr and fiancée, Alicia Wall; her precious grandson, Reed Morgan; and a nephew, James Key; special aunt whom she considered her big sis, Madelene Holbrook; sister in laws, Martha (Don) Whitesell and Judy (Dennis) Reece; brother in laws, Gray (Marie) Norman, Cornelius (Wilma) Norman, Thomas (Frances) Norman, Bobby Norman and Delbert (Nancy Norman); special cousins, Tim and Cynthia Burton, Kenny and Angie Shore, Greg Holbrook, Matthew and Amanda Shore; Linda White, Pat German and Edna Miller who were all like a sister to Betty Sue; and a host of several family and friends. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Betty Sue’s life at 2pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Salem Fork Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. Rev. Sean Joplin, Rev. Tim Burton and Brother Mickey Marshall will conduct the service. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, December 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. They request that in lieu of flowers, that the memorials to be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and Salem Fork Baptist Church. A heartfelt thanks to Mtn. Valley Hospice for all the love and care provided to our family during this time.
