Mrs. Betty Harrison Russell

Mrs. Betty Harrison Russell, age 59, of Thurmond, NC passed away on Friday September 21, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born in Grayson Co. Virginia on August 2, 1948 to the late Walter Harrison and to Laura Hampton Dickens. She was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are her husband Lawrence Russell of the home; one daughter Angela Woppman of Thurmond; one step daughter and step son-in-law Leslie and Darrell Hanks of Mt. Airy; one son and daughter-in-law Melvin and Shannon Woppman of Dobson; her mother and step father Laura Hampton Dickens and Clyde Dickens of Mt. Airy; five grandchildren Derrick and wife Marianne Woppman, Justin Woppman, Seth Russell, Andrew Hanks and Cara Hanks; by three sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Dean Bledsoe of Dobson, Marsha Felts of Mt. Airy, Deborah and Rick Simmons of Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law Albert and Connie Anders of Ararat, NC; and by several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday September 24, 2007 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with Rev. Blaine Oakley officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Dickens Family Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7 until 9 PM.
