Mrs. Betty Sue Edwards Scott

Mrs. Betty Sue Edwards Scott, age 98, of Mt. Airy, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Scott was born in Carroll County on April 7, 1917 to William Jordan and Easter Leftwich Edwards. She was so loving and giving that she spent her whole life working so she would be able to share with others. After her semi-retirement at the age of 75 she went back to work with Hutchens Cleaners until the age of 85 when she finally retired. We work to together on earth, we will rejoice together in heaven. Mrs. Scott will be so dearly missed by her family and many, many friends. Surviving are special nieces and nephews, Brenda King, Linda Senter, Judy Edwards, Marsha Marcela, Roger Edwards, Fred Honeycutt, Brent Edwards; special great nieces and nephews, Bridgett Gibbs, Tammy Golding and Jason Edwards; special great-great nieces, Pretty Girl Evalee Edwards, Katie Golding and Nathan Golding many other nieces and nephews and numerous friends and loved ones. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Scott; sisters, Emma Edwards, Hattie Beliveau, Lula Taylor, Savada Honeycutt and baby Viola Edwards and brothers, Jesse Edwards, Fred Edwards, Ross Edwards, Will Edwards and baby Raleigh Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Church of God of Prophecy by Rev. Ken Young and Rev. Pete King. Burial will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12:30 at the church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home staff, Mountain Valley Hospice staff and especially Linda Collins and Carol Casstevens Red Bird for the kindness shown to Mrs. Scott.
