Mrs. Betty Lou Shelton Tyft

Mrs. Betty Lou Shelton Tyft, age 89, of Pinnacle, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Tyft was born in Surry County on June 14, 1928, to Howard and Cassie Booker Shelton. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. Mrs. Tyft was retired from A T & T. Surviving are daughters, Nadine Tyft, of Atlanta, GA, and Holly T. Cain of Greensboro, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Camilla P. Tyft of Pinnacle; grandchildren, Crystal Lowe, Carla Cain, Thomas Cain, Nolan Cain, Erik Tyft, and Elizabeth Tyft; three great grandchildren; and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Howard and Thelma H. Shelton and Julia B. Shelton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tyft was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Victor Tyft; a daughter, Valerie Tyft and by a brother, James Shelton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, by Rev. Dorothy Sullivan. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
