Mrs, Myrtle Ruth Morris Braddy

Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Morris Braddy, 88, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living in Mt Airy. She was born in Halifax County on November 15, 1928 to the late Jimmy and Myrtle Henderson Morris. Mrs. Braddy was retired from Halifax County Hosiery Mills in Scotland Neck, NC, and was a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James Braddy and Debra of Mt. Airy; grandchildren and spouses, Brad Stroud and Roxanne of Rockwell, Dana Hail and Tim of Brownwood, TX, Sara Jenkins and Edward of Hamptonville; great grandchildren, Erin Stroud and Josie Stroud both of Rockwell; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Wommack and Joe “Dick” of Lakeland, FL; nephews, Robbie Wommack and Merling of Lakeland, FL, and Gary Wommack and Donna of Vernon, FL. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Braddy was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Braddy. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. There will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, 319 Rockford St., Mt.
