Mrs. Brenda Ann Cecil

Mrs. Brenda Ann Hooker Cecil, age 68 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, February 02, 2013 at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Cecil was born in Surry County on June 16, 1944 to George Alex and Eva Mae McCreary Hooker. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Connie Cecil; Tim and Doris Cecil all of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Michea Cecil, Amanda Cecil, Cody Cecil and Tia Cecil; a sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Ewuel Hodges of Mt. Airy; and a very special friend, Joyce Hutchens. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cecil was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby J. Cecil and a sister, Joyce Holt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 4, 2013 at Holy Cross Baptist Church by Rev. Butch Holder. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday beginning at noon. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Central Continuing Care for the wonderful care and love shown to Mrs. Cecil.
